The Valve Steam Deck OLED (November 2023) is the definitive version of Valve's handheld gaming PC — the same iconic form factor and world-class ergonomics as the original, with three major upgrades: a dramatically better 7.4" HDR OLED display, 30–50% more battery life, and Wi-Fi 6E. It's not a gaming console — it's a full PC that runs SteamOS and your entire Steam library, and can be switched to desktop mode or have Windows installed for any PC software.
The 7.4" HDR OLED display is the headline — 1000 nits peak brightness (versus 400 nits on the LCD model), true blacks from OLED self-emissive pixels, 110% DCI-P3 wide colour gamut for vivid, accurate game visuals, and 90Hz refresh rate for smoother motion. At 204ppi, the 1280×800 resolution looks sharp at handheld distance — and the larger 7.4" panel (vs 7" LCD) gives more screen real estate. HDR10 support. Anti-reflective etched glass coating.
The custom AMD "Sephiroth" APU is built on 6nm (vs 7nm in the LCD model) — the same Zen 2 CPU cores and RDNA 2 GPU class, but more efficient. The GPU runs 8 RDNA 2 compute units up to 1.6GHz (1.6 TFLOPS FP32). The TDP range of 4–15W is user-adjustable — dial down for quieter, cooler operation and longer battery life on lighter games, dial up for maximum performance on demanding titles. The 16GB unified LPDDR5-6400 (102.4 GB/s bandwidth) is shared between CPU and GPU — faster than the LCD's LPDDR5-5500 by a meaningful margin for GPU-intensive workloads.
The 50Wh battery (up from 40Wh in the LCD) combined with the more efficient OLED panel and 6nm APU delivers 30–50% more playtime — typically 5–12 hours depending on game demands and TDP setting. The redesigned cooling system uses a bigger fan and improved airflow — the OLED runs notably cooler and quieter than the LCD model under load. Wi-Fi 6E adds access to the 6GHz band for up to 3× faster download speeds on compatible routers — useful for downloading large game files quickly. Bluetooth 5.3 for controllers and headphones.
Controls are the same proven layout that made the Steam Deck so compelling: dual analog joysticks, dual high-resolution trackpads (with haptic feedback), gyroscope for motion aiming, digital shoulder buttons, analog triggers, face buttons, d-pad, and four remappable rear buttons. The sculpted rear grip fits a wide range of hand sizes comfortably for extended sessions.
SteamOS 3 runs the full Steam client — access your entire library, cloud saves, friends list, and Steam Workshop. Proton compatibility layer allows most Windows PC games to run on SteamOS without modification — Valve rates games as Verified, Playable, or Unsupported via the Deck Verified programme. Switch to Desktop Mode for a full Linux desktop. Install Windows for full compatibility. Connect to a monitor via USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 (DisplayPort Alt mode) or a compatible dock for a console-style docked experience. MicroSD slot supports up to 2TB cards for expanded game storage. 45W USB-C charger and carry case included. Available now at Dream Technologies T&T.

50Wh · Up to 12hrs · 30–50% More Than LCD
50Wh battery — 25% larger than the LCD's 40Wh. Combined with the efficient OLED display and 6nm APU, the OLED delivers 30–50% more playtime on the same workloads. Expect 5–8 hours on demanding AAA titles at moderate TDP, up to 10–12 hours on lighter or older games at low TDP. Bigger fan and improved thermal design — runs cooler and quieter than the LCD under load.
