The ASUS Chromebook CX1400CKA is a 14" everyday Chromebook that earns its place by getting the important things right — a Full HD NanoEdge display, a 180-degree lay-flat hinge, 2× USB-C ports with DisplayPort and Power Delivery, and an Auto Update Expiration date of June 2031. That last point matters more than most buyers realise — the CX1400CKA gets five more years of ChromeOS updates from today vs the older CX1400CNA (N3350) variants that expire in 2027. A buyer in 2026 gets a fully supported, secure machine until 2031.
"The CX1400CKA carries an AUE of June 2031 — the larger reason to favour it. A 2026 buyer gets five more years of full ChromeOS updates on the CKA than on the CNA, for roughly the same retail price." — Starry Hope Chromebook Guide
The 14" Full HD NanoEdge display (1920×1080, anti-glare, 250 nits, 77% screen-to-body ratio) gives a clean, modern look with minimal bezels. The 180-degree lay-flat hinge opens fully flat — useful for sharing the screen across a desk, collaborative work, or just a more flexible viewing angle. The fanless design means completely silent operation — no fan noise ever, regardless of workload.
Connectivity is strong for the category: two USB-C ports (both supporting DisplayPort output and Power Delivery charging), two USB-A 3.2 ports, a microSD reader, and a 3.5mm combo jack. No HDMI port — use USB-C to HDMI adapter or cable for external monitors. The Wi-Fi module varies by production run — Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) on earlier units, Wi-Fi 6 on some later 2024+ production runs — both deliver reliable everyday wireless performance.
Up to 12 hours battery life — ChromeOS's efficiency makes the most of the 42Wh cell. Charges via either USB-C port. 1.45kg / 21.9mm — light enough to carry without noticing. Military-grade durability tested against drops, humidity, and temperature extremes per MIL-STD-810H. Google Play Store for Android apps. Google Gemini AI built into ChromeOS. Mineral Grey finish. Available now at Dream Technologies T&T.
